The Bale Mountains with their vast moorlands, virgin woodlands, pristine mountain streams and alpine climate remain an untouched and beautiful world, rising to a height of more than 4000 meters, whose highest peak, mount Tullu Deemtu stands at 4,377 meters. The establishment of the 2400 square kilometer park was crucial to the survival of the three endemic animals, the mountain Nyalas, Menelik’s Bushbuck and the Simien red Fox, those thrive in this environment. Good trekking itineraries can also make in the Bale Mountains by mule and foot.
